SESSION DESCRIPTION

‘At Odds’ - Small Practice | Big Things

While the notion of a small architecture practice engaging in large-scale projects seems to challenge conventional expectations, there are few reasons for this to be so—especially when challenging conventional expectations is intrinsic to the very role of every architect.

Similarly, the pursuit of efficiency may be seen as being at odds with creativity, but in this realm, one cannot exist without the other.

Simon Mather of MAKO Architecture will delve into matters of practice that don’t seemingly align and, by unveiling real-world examples, demonstrate strategies to assist with the reconciliation of apparent discord.

This may serve as a point of reflection for industry allies seeking to challenge the landscape of design practice and harmonise conflicting aspects of their creative endeavours.
