David Watson has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and is currently serving as Director of Technical Sales at NBS Canada (formerly Digicon Information). 

NBS is a leading global technology platform that combines the best content and connectivity for anyone involved in the design, supply, and construction of the built environment. Digicon Information was a Canadian partnership founded in 1996 by Wayne and David Watson. Wayne Watson retired in 2011, and the company was acquired by NBS (UK) in 2017. David Watson now serves NBS as Director of Technical Sales. 

Watson’s career began with an honours diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in the Air Conditioning Engineering program in 1984.  He worked in the HVAC field in a variety of capacities as an estimator, in air and water balancing, and in sales. Watson later developed a number of software automation tools for the specifications industry, including an early ‘smart’ specification software system called AutoSPEC and later a BIM-enabled specification tool called BIMdrive.
