SESSION DESCRIPTION

Deconstructing Light Plots from Simple to Complex

Jeff Ravitz is a working lighting designer who specializes in entertainment for both television and live audiences — and often, both at the same time. A surprising number of his shows are presented in non-traditional performance spaces that don’t provide the typical infrastructure for the installation and setup of a lighting system. From city streets and ancient amphitheaters to hockey arenas and football stadiums, Ravitz will present and unravel the thinking behind a few choice designs and the drawing tools he uses to document them.
