Susan Cohan Gardens
Susan Cohan is an internationally award-winning landscape designer. She was named Designer of the Year by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers in 2021 and is the creative director and principal designer of Susan Cohen Gardens studio. Her work has been widely published, and she strives to incorporate elements of gracious living with ecological responsibility in every project. Cohan is a hands-on designer whose attention to detail and dedication to fine craftsmanship result in beautiful landscapes that feel as if they have always belonged to the environment they inhabit.

Third Time’s the Charm
Susan Cohan has had three major careers. First as a nationally known jewelry designer, next as a design educator and last as a landscape designer. From as early as high school, she knew she wanted to be a designer. First, it was fashion, then jewelry, then back to fashion, then to education, then finally landing on landscape design. How did this happen? The one constant Cohan has had throughout her life is a love of the land. Her practice includes all her previous design experience as well as twenty-plus years of making landscapes.
