Mike Harrison joined Allan Joyce Architects as a Part I in 1998 to scratch lines off tracing paper drawings and is now Associate Director taking the lead on social and developer housing with the practice. He is also responsible for IT and the move from 2D to BIM, with 25 years of experience using Vectorworks (since MiniCAD 7).
He has wanted to be an architect for as long as he can remember and always loved buildings, making things, and drawing.
For Harrison, seeing something he’s drawn built so he can walk around it and touch it is the best moment on each project. On every project he is involved in, he is passionate about providing the best buildings possible for the budget available. He loves working on social housing, where there is the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the residents through seemingly small design interventions.
